Positive egg fillers great for classmates. Proud statements for families. We created these two word documents that you can print, cut, and fill easter eggs with kind words.

Here are a couple of great ideas for Spring.

Instead of  traditional plastic eggs filled with candy, how about filling the plastic eggs with positive thoughts for your children.  We have a MS Word document: proud.doc that you can print.  The 'proud' document has 25 statements like: 'I'm proud of your good choices,' and 'You are helpful.' Cut each of the positive statements into strips and place each one in a plastic egg. Have fun coming up with your own thoughts for your children.  You can make it a family project and have each member of the family create special statements for each other. You can easily designate different colored eggs for everyone. Dad's might be blue, mom's hot pink, and have each child choose their own color. I make a centerpiece with a basket filled with cellophane grass and fill with these positive eggs.  At breakfast time and dinnertime, each family member chooses an egg and reads aloud the good thought. This is a great way to enhance self-esteem, communication, and reading skills.

Another idea we have for sharing  is to organize a Spring sing-a-long at a retirement home.  Many times community and schools groups visit during Christmas time with a round of Christmas carols.  It's a long time away. How about remembering these folks more often. Print out our MS Word document of Spring Songs.  Make enough copies for your group and include some for the residents of the retirement home.  The songs we chose range from happy songs like 'If All the Raindrops' and 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game,' to active songs like 'The Hokey Pokey' and 'If You're Happy and You Know It.'  We've also included an all time favorite, silly song, 'On Top of Spaghetti.' Go ahead have fun and remember our saying, 'Volunteer to spread some Cheer.' Enjoy.
