Working Parents, LLC acknowledges Kara

Working Parents, LLC acknowledges Kara's radio station in Santa Clara, CA as a community builder for supporting education.

Recently, Kara radio's promotions director, Susan O'Neil, and Kara's radio celebrity, Kim Vestal, donated two co-hosting spots of radio time to a local school. The two prime morning slots from 8 - 9 am give the opportunity for two children with an adult chaperone to co-host Kara's popular weekday morning show with Kim Vestal.

How does this benefit the community? The two co-hosting spots were auctioned off at one of the school's annual fundraisers. It is a great way for a school to raise hundreds of dollars, and for the lucky students to experience the world of radio broadcasting.  Of course, the school is excited to promote listening to the morning show amongst family and friends who anticipate hearing their friends on the air who may talk about their teachers, activities and friends from school. Overall a win-win event both for the local school and radio station.

Our website www.workingparents.com is happy to acknowledge Kara's contribution as a community builder, and challenges other schools and radio programs to partner in community building programs that support education.

Reservations recommended for Valentine's Day.

Appetizers (range $5 - $8) We had Pane Amore - Excellent. We liked it with the roasted garlic, and mushroom & olive spreads. Skip the caponata spread.

Main Course (range $8 - $20) Raviolis - Superb. My children ages 7 & 9 ate every bite wanting more. Although they don't have a children's menu, the servers were accommodating by providing crayons & paper. Also they were very willing to split any of the main entrées for children's portions. Note: If your children are too young to sit still in a restaurant, this may not be the best place for a family dinner.  Instead, keep it in mind for a romantic dinner for two.  Chicken Gabriella - Nice. To me it was comparable to any other nice restaurant. The most notable feature about this dish was the very generous portion and the flavorful polenta on the side. Vegetable platter - Exquisite. I would definitely reorder this beautifully served array of vegetables grilled and sautéed to perfection. View a sample of their recent Autumn Menu Sampler.

Wine list (range $18 - $125/bottle) - fine variety.

Dessert ($6) - delectable chocolate torte to crême brulée

Volunteer to spread cheer. - A. Lane

How about organizing a Spring sing-a-long at a retirement home.  Many times community and schools groups visit during Christmas time with a round of Christmas carols.  It's a long time away. How about remembering these folks more often. Print out our MS Word document of Spring Songs.  Make enough copies for your group and include some for the residents of the retirement home.  The songs we chose range from happy songs like 'If All the Raindrops' and 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game,' to active songs like 'The Hokey Pokey' and 'If You're Happy and You Know It.'  We've also included an all time favorite, silly song, 'On Top of Spaghetti.' Go ahead have fun and remember our saying, 'Volunteer to spread some Cheer.' Enjoy.
